FICO Eataly World is the world’s largest agri-food park and it’s located in Bologna, Emilia Romagna, Italy, one of the most famous Italian regions when it comes to food. It has a first and last name: FICO, which is the acronym for Fabbrica Italiana COntadina (Italian Farmer Factory) and EATALY WORLD because it is the largest in the world and unique in its completeness.

FICO Eataly World employs over 150 Italian companies, from North to South of Italy, of all types and sizes: cooperatives and consortia, large companies and small craftsmen, all linked by the same passion for excellence and the role they play in producing and promoting the best of Italian food & wine, that is, one of the driving forces of the Made in Italy and the pole of attraction for the country.

FICO aims at attracting 6 million visitors per year, at least 2 million from abroad, offering an international platform into the world of agriculture, food production, tourism, and Italian culture.

WHAT IS FICO EATALY WORLD

A place that combines fun with culture and knowledge, thanks to 30 events and 50 courses each day to discover, learn, and taste the wonders of Italian biodiversity, to understand our agriculture and food processing.

FICO offers:

  • 2 hectares of open fields and stables, with 200 animals and 2000 cultivars representing the beauty of agriculture and animal breeding;
  • 8 hectares covered with 40 producing farming factories; over 45 trattorias, bistros, starred restaurants, street-food kiosks, bars, and cafés;
  • 9000 sqm of shops and marketplace with the best Italian products and kitchen design;
  • areas dedicated to sports, children, books and services; 6 classrooms and 6 large educational Carousels dedicated to Man and Fire, Man and Sea, Man and Earth, Man and Animals, Man: from Soil to Bottle, and Man and Future;
  • a congress center seating from 50 to 1000 people, theatre and cinema facilities;

The Park is also a research and culture centre, and a destination for Schools across Europe, thanks to the FICO Foundation for Food Education and Sustainability, which combines the competences of four universities -the Alma Mater Studiorum of Bologna, the University of Trento, the University of Suor Orsola Benincasa, the University of Gastronomic Sciences of Pollenzo, and the Future Food Institute-networking the most important international realities in the field of sustainability the agri-food sector.

WHERE IS FICO LOCATED

FICO Eayaly World is located in via Paolo Canali, 8 –Bologna(Caab/Fiera district). It takes 20minutes by car from Bologna railway stationn and 40 minutes by car from Guglielmo Marconi International Airport.

HOW TO ARRIVE TO FICO EATALY WORLD

TPER FICOBUS

Take the TPER FICOBUS, guaranteed every day from 9:30 am to midnight every 30 minutes, Saturdays and Holidays every 20 minutes. Departure from the Bologna city center in Via Indipendenza, stopping only at the Bologna train station, Fair District, and FICO Eataly WorldFor guests with reduced motor skills it is recommended to use the dedicated TPER shuttle that drops off riders directly at the FICO entrance.Find here more information and costs: https://www.eatalyworld.it/en/how-to-get-here

FROM THE AIRPORT

From Guglielmo Marconi International Airport, you can reach FICO using the COTABO taxi service of Bologna. The COTABO taxi will take you from the airport directly to the entrance of FICO Eataly World at a fixed cost of €23 one way. You can also take the BLQ SHUTTLE (airport -train station) and the TPER FICO SHUTTLE (train station -FICO) that will take you directly to FICO at a total cost of €16. The fare includes a same day round trip to the park and round-trip Aerobus service to be used within three calendar days.

TAXI

You can reach FICO using the COTABO taxi service of Bologna. From Bologna RailwayStation, you can reach FICO at a fixed cost of €18one way. If you travel from the airport you can reach FICO at a fixed cost of €23 one way. From the city center, you can reach FICO at a fixed cost of €20 from the Righi Taxi Parking in via Indipendenza. BY CAR

Are you coming from Firenze, Milano, and Ancona?Take the “Bologna Fiera” exit of the A14 highway. Are you coming from Padova?Exit at Bologna Arcoveggio and get on the Tangenziale nord of Bologna going towards Ancona. Are you coming from Bologna or the Emilia-Romagna region?Take the Tangenziale nord of Bologna and take the exit 8 “Fiera”, 8 bis “Caab”, or 9 “San Donato”. There are about 2,500 parking spaces available. The first 2 hours are free, and every hour after that costs €1.50 per hour

INSIDE FICO: ON FOOT, BY BIKE, BY TRAIN

Free of charge you can ride the special FICO bikes made by Bianchi equipped with three wheels, a cart, and a fridge to easily travel around the park and do your shopping in a totally sustainable and convenient way!You can embark on a very special mini-trip with the Trenitalia FrecciaRossa1000 park train for FICO for just €1, which will take you around the outer perimeter of the park, giving you the chance to enjoy the farming “landscape”, the crops and livestock.
